Activity Overview
The Winter Elderly Home Warmth Action visited several elderly homes to bring residents practical winter supplies, together with face-to-face visits and conversation.
For elderly residents, the meaning of a visit goes beyond receiving supplies. Volunteers asked about their wellbeing, listened to everyday stories and shared time together, hoping residents could feel that people in the community continue to care about them.
The activity was hosted by The Home of On Hong Limited and co-organised by the Youth Moral Education Foundation, with visits including Yan Tak Home in Tsuen Wan, Ka Yat Home in Kowloon City and Yan Wo Home in Wan Chai.
Companionship for a Warmer Winter
Winter supplies offer practical help, while visits and conversation bring a more human kind of warmth. Through continued visits to elderly homes, we hope residents feel respected, remembered and accompanied.
We also hope more volunteers can understand the needs of elderly persons through service and make care for seniors part of ongoing community action.
